Day Three- Penn State

State College, Pennsylvania – November 30th, 2018

Good Morning, Green Bay, again! It’s 4am and I am beyond tired. Jess and I meet Dory in the lobby, get in a car and head to the airport to start our journey to Penn State.  Our first flight out of Green Bay is to Chicago where we have a layover. Our next flight is to Harrisburg where we rent a car. Then we drive for 2 hours. Now I’m all for travel and adventure but this is pretty miserable, to be 100% honest. Once we were about 10 minutes from our hotel we stopped at Pump Station Cafe for a much needed coffee and some food. After being up for 10 hours and traveling for 9 I can not tell you how amazing it was to find this place. The coffee was incredible and the food was delicious. Jess had the chicken salad sandwich and it was so good I snuck 2.. okay 3 bites, highly recommend this. I apologize now because I am too tired and delirious at this point in the day, and I am not doing a good job of documenting with photos. Here is an image I found online of the restaurant to show you, because I loved the vibe of it.

We checked into our hotel, the Hyatt, and Jess immediately went to sleep. I used this time to update the blog and go to the hotel gym. This day is already so long and its not even close to showtime. A few hours later, it’s finally time to get ready! I curled my hair and used Jesses hairspray, let me clarify.. I used all of Jesses hairspray. Whoopsie. Lucky for me there was a target in our hotel. Now we’re off to the venue. Jess does a quick soundcheck and it’s time to play the waiting game in the green room until showtime. I was tasked with the very important job of steaming Jesse’s stage clothes. Look, hardly any wrinkles!

I get Jesses instagram up and live stream him walking out on stage. The audience was so excited and had so much energy.  Penn State was a really good crowd. There was the cutest group of girls in the front row. I couldn’t resist putting them up on Jesse’s story; they were having the best time singing and dancing the entire show. When I’m at these shows the only 2 people I know are both on stage, so, for me it’s fun when some of the fans say hi and this group made my night. After the show, it’s back to the green room to wait some more. Jesse has a quick event committee meet and greet and then we head back to our hotel. Delirious is a great word to describe my state of mind. I need food and a glass of wine now. Jess and I attempt to eat at the bar in our hotel but the kitchen is closed so we adventure out to a spot called the Local Whiskey. Wine time! They only had a limited food menu available because, it was 12:30, so we split the hummus plate (very LA, I know).  Jesse started to get recognized and being as tired as we were, we decided to finish our drinks and head back to our hotel bar. It was last call so we ordered two to go cups of wine and headed back to our room. This day was rough, but it was all worth it! Good night, State College!

xoxo,

the Rebel Blonde
