My Tour Bus Diary- Show Six

Show Six- The Ritz

Raleigh, North Carolina- January 18, 2019

Good morning, Raleigh! It’s a short ride from Charlotte to Raleigh, but regardless we’ve slept in today. This is the first stop on the tour where we don’t have any friends or family coming to the show, so we are sleeping in a little extra today. Jess and I wake up and head into the venue, The Ritz, to have some lunch and coffee backstage. Jess and I have a twitter chat later to promote the “Wasted” music video, so Jess goes to workout while I get all our social medias updated for the chat. I am definitely not working out today. For the twitter chat, we are replying as Brock and Veronica using the #WastedwithBrockandVeronica.

We had so much fun getting into character on the set of “Wasted” so it was like a little flashback for us. Jess and I were cracking ourselves up. I think I probably could’ve tweeted more, but Jess kept making me stop to read how funny his tweets were. I don’t know if it was more fun doing the twitter chat or watching him do the twitter chat.

Jesse sold out the Ritz Raleigh! When an artist sells out this venue they make you a cake and custom beer glasses as a gift. It’s really cool how each venue has different little things they do for the artists.

They also took a picture of him to hang on their sold out shows wall.

Sherry, Jesse’s manager, is going to meet her daughter and her boyfriend for dinner at Whiskey Kitchen. They aren’t planning on coming to the show because they are busy, so I tag along to say hi and have a glass of wine. They had a really cool extensive whiskey menu, but I’m still exhausted from last night and a glass of wine is all I can handle right now. It’s not a chain but if you’ve been reading along you might notice that it has the same name as a place we went to in Nashville. Anyways, I don’t stay long and I head back to the venue. Jess and I are waiting for the show to start backstage and so naturally we take some mirror selfies, like total nerds!

Also, this is my first show wearing the Resolution Tour merch. It takes a long time to choose merch and Sherry, Jess and I were really hands on with designing everything. I don’t think most artists are so hands on with every aspect of a show.

Showtime! Jess goes out and performs. Sherry and I watch from the front of stage as well as from up by Katey, who is running the spotlight. We are actually watching with a setlist and taking notes on the show. It’s pretty perfect and not many more adjustments need to be made. I’m also trying to get good story posts and a live video for Jesse’s socials! After the show and meet and greets, we head back to the bus. We have a bunch of Oscar screeners on the bus so, Sherry, Jacob (guitar player), Jess, Bailey and I decide to watch Green Book. This movie was amazing! Highly recommend!

Movies over and now it’s off to bed.. see you in a few Philly!
